Shattered Angels: The Complete Collection Review
Fans of Kannazuki No Miko should really enjoy this show (and will especially enjoy a certain couple character reference!) Those who have not seen Kannazuki No Miko or Steel Angel Kurumi (both of which are referenced in this anime) can certainly still enjoy it, though! The art and animation is beautiful, crisp, and vibrant with bright colors. The English voice actors do a fine job, as well. Every voice fits the character - even though a couple may grate on some less tolerant people's nerves.
The story revolves around Kuu, a girl who feels empty and useless who dreams of her "prince." She lives in Academia - a country of schools created after a disaster several years prior. One day she meets a man who reminds her of the prince in her dreams, and he introduces her to the "Absolute Angels" - beautiful creatures of power and destruction. The story is full of fantasy and romance.
I will say that the "mecha" fights are far better animated and much more interesting and convincing than in Kannazuki no Miko. The story also has slightly better pacing. Although it can be easily compared to Kannazuki no Miko, I would NOT consider this a yuri show. There is one lesbian couple, but the focus is on a male/female couple. The music is ok, but leaves much to be desired compared to other similar shows (i.e. Kannazuki!)
The product is great - a 2 disc thin pack that won't take up too much room. The box is pretty and the disc slip covers are reversable with beautiful (if a bit scandelous) art. DVD menus are simple, but work. Extras are limited to clean op and ending, credits, and Funimation previews. The subtitles for the opening and closing songs include Romanji and English translation (alternates by episode).
Shattered Angels: The Complete Collection Overview
Ten years ago, an unspeakable disaster shook the world and endless devastation rained from the heavens. From the ashes of that tragedy rose the city of learning, Academia. A young girl named Kuu attends one of the city's many schools, unaware that the fearful disaster only marked the beginning of the struggles to come. When a series of people go missing and a mysterious transfer student named Kyoshiro joins her class, Kuu's life is turned upside down. She soon finds herself locked in a conflict with the Absolute Angels, a group of beautiful girls who must feed off of human life force to survive. Wielding god-like strength, they have the power to destroy the world itself. But are these angels truly demons of destruction, or simply innocent girls trapped in a fate they can't escape? Who is Kyoshiro, and why does he look like the prince that Kuu sees in her dreams? In a world of love and betrayal, Kuu must not only find the answers to these questions, but the meaning of her own existence.

LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!! - Michaela -
Being a major fan of Kannazuki No Miko and having learned of the slight character reference I just had to buy this. I'm glad I did! Although I'm not one for so much romance and men that turn out to be super jerks (I won't say who, can't spoil it for any of you :D) Anyway, ranting aside, though there were a few moments that did just out and out piss me off, this is one of those animes that you just can't help but get so into it to the point that you're screaming things at your t.v. I would recommend this to really ANY anime fan ^^
Not the beginning - Charles Stuckey - Florida
Be Warned: this is a follow-up (sequel) to Steel Angels (?), which I have not seen. While it claims to stand alone, it does so on one leg. Hence the "OK" rating. If it had been clearer about being a sequel, I'd have bought the first series and it may have seemed much better. So if you have seen the first series, ignore this review, if not, get the first series before watching this.
Shattered Angel - S. J. Greville -
Focused more on the romance side than the action side, but still delivers a good helping of both. If steel angel kurumi was your cup of tea then this is definately worth looking at

This anime is a tear jerker. I loved it but the ending was very sad like Kannazuki No Miko. If you enjoy romance animes that don't turn out like their suppose to then get this if you want the anime to be heartfelt but everything is as it should happen all happy then don't get this.
