I recently bought Naruto Shippuden- The Movie for my kids and they loved it! There was plenty of action for them and a couple funny moments plus at the end some of their favorite characters show up to help Naruto. You have to watch this movie if you're a big naruto fan. It's about naruto helping this girl {i forgot her name} but she recently had a vision if Naruto was going to live... or die during their mission.
Features Naruto, Sakura, Neji, Lee and the priestess. To know what happens in this adventure or what happens to naruto you have to watch the movie. YOU WILL ENJOY!

Naruto Shippuden - The Movie Specifications


The first of three theatrical features, Naruto Shippuden--the Movie (2007) provides a visually striking, action-packed introduction to the second series of adventures of ninja-in-training Naruto Uzumaki. Sinister ninja use black magic medical jutsu to raise the spirit of the long-imprisoned demon Moryo. If Moryo's body is also resurrected, he will establish a Thousand Year Kingdom that will mean the end of life on Earth as humans know it. Only Shion, the priestess of the Land of Ogres, can stop Moryo by keeping his body sealed within a hidden temple. A special squad from the Village Hidden in the Leaves--Neji, Sakura, Rock Lee, and Naruto--is assigned to protect Shion on her journey there. Director Hajime Kamegaki uses CG to create a terracotta army copied from the celebrated figures from Emperor Qin Shi Huang's tomb in Xian. The scenes of marching clay automatons, impervious to ordinary weapons, pack a real punch, although they don't always blend with the drawn characters. Kamegaki balances these dire threats with plenty of physical comedy: Naruto boasts and blunders and stumbles; Rock Lee defeats his foe after eating a liquor-filled chocolate, re-creating his version of Jackie Chan's "drunken fist" technique in the "Chase for Sasuke" story arc. Naruto the Movie - Taylor -
I thought that this movie was awesome! A great movie to start off the Shippuden Series. The batte scenes are impressive, especially Lee's! I love the fact that Shion, the priestess would predict Naruto's death. But the only way to escape her fatal prediction, is to abandon Shion. But that's not the type of thing Naruto would do. I also love how it swears in it, and theres blood. But you don't really see much of that in this movie. But, other then that, this movie is really good. I watch it atleast twice a week, possibly more. I would recommend this to all Naruto Fans out there!

Neji and Lee have been getting the shaft on screen time.

Overall, it is the best naruto movie I have seen. If you are a fan of Neji or Lee, might be the only was to see them both fight out side of the gaara arc.



It's a Naruto Movie - Charles Stuckey - Florida
Like most of the Naruto movies, this one is a mini-story that's basically an extended episode. While good to watch from a Naruto fan standpoint, also like most of the movies it has little relevance to the plot of the series and follows a formulaic plotline. It's as good as most of the movies.

Pocahontas (Disney Gold Classic Collection) Review



After watching the old vhs version of Pocahontas for the first time yesterday, I was somewhat ambivalent about the film. Reading the reviews, however, I realize that Pocahontas has done something remarkable, especially for a "cartoon": it has made Americans discuss serious aspects of our history with each other. I can remember the excitement when Pocahontas came out, that Disney had finally created a non-white heroine. I think we can still feel the ripples of that excitement today, as we talk about the difference between history and legend, who the Native Americans were and are, and the implications of these questions for people living today.
As for historical accuracy, a person would have to be confused to go to a Disney movie thinking they would see "history" on the screen. Pocahontas is a legend, and Disney has, as usual, created its own version of that legend. On the surface, the movie is just a love story between two people of different cultures. Still, the conflict between Indians and white "settlers" depicted in this film gives some indication of the historical expectations of both groups, and of what happened as a result of that. We can't expect a Disney movie to deal with the genocide that followed.
The character of Pocahontas that Disney created is so powerful that she overshadows everything else in the film. This is not a cute cardboard cutout, but a grown-up, majestic woman who should be an inspiration to everyone who watches the movie. The John Smith character is not quite the same quality, but he is an admirable nonetheless. Smith is eager to explore the New World and willing to forge a relationship with someone he previously considered a "savage," and even remains silent when the natives accuse him of killing one of their warriors. But he cannot equal Pocahontas's noble gesture of protecting Smith with her own body and telling her father that he will have to kill her if he's going to kill the white man. This is powerful stuff.
Underlying the love story is the message of honoring the earth, beautifully captured in the song "Colors of the Wind." In Pocahontas, Disney's artists have made nature come alive, from the majestic rivers and mountains to Pocahontas's delightful friends Meeko and Flit. In color and sound, it is a gorgeous film.
To sum up, everyone should see this beautiful movie. Far more than just entertaining you, it will make you think seriously about who we are as Americans, as well as how we treat the planet we all have to share.




Pocahontas (Disney Gold Classic Collection) Overview


Disney's take on this historical confrontation between European settlers and Native Americans follows the paths of two future lovers. One is British adventurer John Smith, who travels the Atlantic with the Virginia Company to establish Jamestown. On the shore is Pocahontas, a typical Disney heroine: bright, beautiful, mischievous, and motherless. The two meet in the untamed wilds of America (the first meeting is quite divine), fall in love, and try to ward off the warring factions. It's Disney's version of a Native American West Side Story. Two Disney trademarks do not quite muster up: the villain isn't hissable and the score's only high point is the Oscar-winning "Colors of the Wind." Calling it "historical" is a stretch, but Disney created a very natural look at the two cultures. The Native American characters are handled especially well, and kids should be intrigued by their world; the movie is a far different lesson from the one their parents and grandparents learned. Disney has discovered a few things, though: you don't have to kill to solve your problems, and you can end the film without a happily-ever-after, illustrated by a touching final visual. Most underraated Disney film. - V. Nguyen - California
It's hilarious reading the bad reviews about Pocahontas. They either complain that the movie is too mature (it tries too hard to be politically correct, and it is too blatant in its portrayal of violence and racism), or that it is too childish (making a mockery of actual history by portraying it in a cartoon-ish and simplistic manner). So, what is it?

The problem is that people already have too many opinions formed about it before they even watch it. People were already protesting 'Pocahontas' before it was even released way back in 1995! Why judge something before you have seen it? If you watch it with an open mind, you will see that Pocahontas is a wonderful movie with a great message, and that the creators took a lot of care into trying to portray Indian culture in a respectful way. Great music, great animation, great story. Extremely underrated. And one of my favorites. (:

Inuyasha, The Movie 3 - Swords of an Honorable Ruler Review



This is the best of the Inuyasha movies. I just wished they had shown more about the father. Sesshoumaru at the beginning of the movie says he has no need of anybody to protect. He never notices he slowly gathers his folowers(Rin and Jaken) whom he protects for whatever reason. Inuyasha has followers, too. The two sons are just like their father, though neither would ever admit it.
If you are unfamiliar with Inuyasha start with the first movie, which recaps the origin story.

Many years ago, the Great Dog Demon wielded the Three Swords of the Fang. Upon his death, he bequeathed a sword to each of his sons, Inuyasha and Sesshomaru, leaving the third sword, the wrath-filled Sounga, locked away forever. Now that the Sounga’s power has been awakened, these two battling brothers must put away their sibling rivalry and face off against a force that spells doom for all mankind!

Swords of an Honorable Ruler is darker and more dramatic than the two previous Inu-Yasha features--or the broadcast series. Inu-Yasha's father Inu no Taisho, the Great Dog Demon, possessed not two but three swords: Tetsusaiga, Tenseiga, and Sounga, which are linked to Earth, Heaven, and Hell, respectively. After the human princess Izayoi gave birth to Inu-Yasha, she was killed by Takemaru, a samurai who loved her from afar. Inu no Taisho died soon after; the sword smith Totosai and Myoga the flea hid the first two swords, according their master's instructions, and sealed away Sounga. Seven centuries later, Sounga has become one of the treasures of the Higurashi family shrine. During what should be an ordinary ritual, Sounga is freed and returns to the past through the Bone Eater's Well. The bloodthirsty spirit of the sword raises the soul of Takemaru and begins a campaign of hideous destruction. Can Inu-Yasha, Kagome, Shippo, Miroku, Sango, and Sesshomaru defeat the sword-ghoul--individually or collectively?

In addition to being more violent than other Inu-Yasha films, Swords of an Honorable Ruler is more lavish, with lots of CG special effects and a score by Kaoru Wada that evokes The Rite of Spring. Director Toshiya Shinohara keeps things movie so briskly, the viewer doesn't have time to miss Naraku, Kikyo, or the Shikon Jewel, although the final battle goes on far too long. The drama and passion of Swords of an Honorable Ruler will delight Inu-Yasha fans. (Rated PG-13: violence, grotesque imagery, minor risqué humor) --Charles Solomon

Very good movie, I did have to return the DVD becasue of scratched and it would not play, but besides that I was able to reorder and correct it very quickly and everything was made very easy!



The third film for the Inuyasha franchise - Lesley Aeschliman - Enumclaw, WA
Swords of an Honorable Ruler is the third of four films in the Inuyasha franchise. During the course of the film, Inuyasha and his brother, Sesshomaru (who hate each other), must team up together in order to defeat the enemy. But can these feuding brothers put aside their rivalry long enough to save the day?

There are seven special features on the DVD. The first is a Line Art Gallery, which is split into two sections: Characters and Settings. There are forty pages of character model sheets under the "Characters" section. The "Settings" section contains thirty-two pages of settings.

The "Special Footage" link is next, and it takes you to a feature that runs a little over twenty-six minutes. This footage recaps some of the important moments in the series that tie in to Inuyasha and Sesshomaru's rivalry.

Next, there are the Japanese trailers for Swords of an Honorable Ruler, with a trailer for the fourth Inuyasha film included at the end. These run for about five minutes, but they are all in Japanese with no English subtitles. There are also Viz Media trailers, a one screen ad for the Inuyasha graphic novels, a one screen ad for the Inuyasha trading card game, and a preview for the Inuyasha Feudal Combat video game (which looks a lot like Inuyasha characters are put into a game that is played in the same manner as the Street Fighter games).

Overall, Swords of an Honorable Ruler is an excellent film. The runtime for the film is perfect for the story being told. This DVD should be in the collection of anyone who appreciates the Inuyasha anime series.

It's good if you like InuYasha. There is a small plot hole in the way that Inu-Papa dies, but over all it's a good movie. It shows that Sesshoumaru is starting to have a Grinch moment and his heart is starting to grow. I liked it so much that I went out and bought all the movies in box set.

Sleeping Beauty (Two-Disc Platinum Edition) Specifications


Disney's 1959 animated effort was the studio's most ambitious to date, a widescreen spectacle boasting a gorgeous waltz-filled score adapting Tchaikovsky. In the 14th century, the malevolent Maleficent (not dissimilar to the wicked Queen in Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs taunts a king that his infant Aurora will fatally prick her finger on a spinning wheel before sundown on her 16th birthday. This, of course, would deny her a happily-ever-after with her true love. Things almost but not quite turn out that way, thanks to the assistance of some bubbly, bumbling fairies named Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather. It's not really all that much about the title character--how interesting can someone in the middle of a long nap be, anyway? Instead, those fairies carry the day, as well as, of course, good Prince Phillip, whose battle with the malevolent Maleficent in the guise of a dragon has been co-opted by any number of animated films since. See it in its original glory here. And Malificent's castle, filled with warthogs and demonic imps in a macabre dance celebrating their evil ways, manages a certain creepy grandeur. --David Kronke

Sleeping Beauty was the last and most lavish of Walt Disney's animated fairy tales. He told the artists not to hurry and to give him "a moving illustration": The film required almost four and one-half years and one million finished drawings. Instead of the 19th century storybook illustrations that had influenced the look of Snow White and Pinocchio, the artists adapted the flattened perspective and jewel-like colors of 15th century French illuminated manuscripts. The results remain unmatched for sheer visual opulence. However, Sleeping Beauty suffers from a weak story: the vision of an ageless princess slumbering in a vine-shrouded tower was replaced with elements of Snow White and a boy-meets-girl musical. The evil Maleficent and the three Good Fairies (Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather) dominate the film, rather than Princess Aurora and Prince Philip. Sleeping Beauty was originally released in 70mm, and the Blu-ray edition restores the film to its original splendor. (Many earlier releases trimmed the wide-screen images and/or muted the glowing palatte.) The Bonus DVD looks good on a flat screen monitor, but it pales in comparison to the richness of the Blu-ray. In addition to the commentaries and a making-of documentary, the set includes myriad extras that vary widely in quality. Nostalgia buffs will enjoy the recreation of the old Sleeping Beauty's Castle attraction in Disneyland, and the TV program "Four Artists Paint One Tree" provides a welcome showcase for key talents from the film. But the CG animation of the dragon and the voice imitations of the Good Fairies fail to capture the magic of the originals in the "Dragon Encounter"; the "Maleficent's Challenge Game"--a hi-tech Twenty Questions--sounds only vaguely like the redoubtable sorceress. I like this Item as much as my toddler does she is a fan of disney princess's. I like this cover because its slim and it has all blu ray has 3 discs.



Quality transfer ruined by ads, design - Tec - Detroit, MI
This is easily the worst disc we have ever watched. Not because of the movie itself, which is a faithful - even gorgeous - transfer. But in the battle to get to see it.

First off, this disc includes TEN ads in the beginning! Fortunately, depending your player you can chapter skip, and so I did. Over, and over, and over. And then the screen went black, and I had to do it all again. It took almost 5 minutes just to GET to the movie!

Second, and perhaps worse, is the disc doesn't play for 2-3 minutes even when you DO get to the movie! This isn't a mistake, it actually warns you of this as the disc starts. And true to it's word, it just goes black for so long you think it's broken. If you get to the point of the disc playing, you literally have time to go make yourself a snack!

Combined, these 'features' are so infuriating that they cast a dark pall over the entire movie that never really went away. The best word to describe it is 'abusive.' I think Walt would roll in his grave if he knew how miserable an experience Disney has wrapped around and in front of his classic.

I purchased this video for my niece's birthday. It arrived in perfect condition and within the week. My kids loved it when they were growing up, and I did, too. I especially like the music and animation.Although I haven't viewed it, I am sure it is fine.

This story of a winsome orphan and his guardian dragon features an Academy Award-nominated score and song, Helen Reddy's "Candle on the Water." The combination of a live-action story with an animated figure was innovative in 1977, and the green dragon with pink wings will still charm youngsters today. However, its plot has the boy running from a nasty family to whom he's been sold into slavery, as well as an evil magician who tries to steal the dragon for his parts. These dark story lines may scare or bore younger children, who only want to see Elliot the dragon belch fire and give Pete rides on his back. And older children who might appreciate the plot may scoff at the relatively crude animation. This leaves a rather narrow audience window of about ages 3 to 7. A cast of veterans includes Shelley Winters, Mickey Rooney, and Red Buttons, who all turn in the hammiest of performances. Acting newcomer Reddy demonstrates both why her acting career never took off and why her singing career did. (Lines like "You're a bunch of superstitious ding-dongs" don't give her much help.) However, her sometimes awkward performance as the lonely lighthouse keeper who gives the boy a home provides the film with its heart. Bottom line: it's a keeper for diehard Disney fans, dragon lovers, and those who remember this movie fondly from their childhood. --Kimberly Heinrichs

Even for a 12-year old, D.J. Walters has a particularly overactive imagination. He is convinced that his haggard and crabby neighbor Horace Nebbercracker, who terrorizes all the neighborhood kids, is responsible for Mrs. Nebbercracker's mysterious disappearance. Any toy that touches Nebbercracker's property, promptly disappears, swallowed up by the cavernous house in which Horace lives. D.J. has seen it with his own eyes! But no one believes him, not even his best friend, Chowder. What everyone does not know is D.J. is not imagining things. Everything he's seen is absolutely true and it's about to get much worse than anything D.J could have imagined.
